“Public service is a tough job — it comes with big responsibilities, the obligation to work with people of the opposing party, and a seeming need to satisfy so many.

But it also comes with a good salary, great benefits, and, perhaps most appealing to many — power.

So, at least according to campaign speeches, our elected officials in Harrisburg have the will to serve the public and solve our pressing problems.  And we know they have the power to do it.

They have the power to close the loophole that allows private sales of long guns to go through without a background check.”
