Pittsburgh, PA — CeaseFirePA, Pennsylvania’s statewide gun violence prevention organization, has hired Josh Fleitman as Western PA Manager to grow engagement in the region. The move comes as gun violence worsens across Pennsylvania and support for commonsense gun safety policy increases. Fleitman will lead CeaseFirePA’s strategic campaigns in Western PA by expanding strong existing partnerships, developing new allies, and coordinating grassroots advocacy.
Fleitman previously worked as Deputy Chief of Staff for PA State Senator Pam Iovino. He brings significant experience in legislative policymaking and communications at the local, state, and federal government levels. He lives in the Morningside neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
“Western Pennsylvanians are demanding commonsense solutions to the epidemic of gun violence,” said Adam Garber, CeaseFirePA Executive Director. “The gun violence prevention movement in Pittsburgh is strong. We are excited to have Josh on board to further turn their calls into growing capacity and strengthening the area’s base of support for lifesaving action in Harrisburg.”
“Creating safer communities for everyone has always been a priority for Western Pennsylvanians, and I’ve seen firsthand the region’s growing movement for commonsense gun safety laws,” said Josh Fleitman. “I’m optimistic about tapping into that sentiment, building on CeaseFirePA’s strong presence in the region, and engaging new audiences, including responsible gun owners, the veterans community, and the education and medical fields in our effort to comprehensively address gun violence in our Commonwealth.”
CeaseFirePA is Pennsylvania’s only state-based gun violence prevention advocacy organization. Our mission is to end the epidemic of gun violence through education, coalition building, and advocacy.
